Privacy Policy
JD3 Lasers LLC operates JD3 ZoneTools. We keep this short because we collect very little.
1. What we collect
Contact messages. When you email us, we get your email address and whatever you write.
Beta application details. If beta intake is open and you submit the beta application form, we collect the details needed to review the request: name, email, company or show affiliation, role, primary use, BEYOND version, BEYOND license tier, typical projector count, BEYOND PC count, whether you can test remote zoning, Windows and macOS test availability, upcoming test window, optional notes, and beta terms and request email consents.
Beta request metadata. For beta applications, the website also creates a request ID and may forward your applicant IP address, browser user-agent, and request metadata from the hosting request path. We use this for abuse prevention, duplicate request checks, support/contact follow-up, and the licensing workflow handoff.
Website analytics. This site uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous page view data. No cookies. No personally identifiable information. Visitor sessions are not stored past 24 hours. What's collected: page URL, referrer, device type, browser, and approximate country/region. It can't be tied to an individual. No third-party tracking pixels, no advertising trackers.
License activation. The Software sends a license key and machine identifier to our licensing server to validate your activation. It's used for license enforcement only and isn't linked to any personal profile.
Cookies. This website doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising.
2. How we use it
- To reply to your messages
- To review closed beta access requests
- To prevent spam, abuse, and duplicate beta applications
- To hand beta application data to the license-server/admin review workflow
- To deliver license keys and manage activations
- To send product updates and release notes if you opt in
- To comply with legal obligations
Beta application data is sent from this website to the JD3 license-server beta intake API and reviewed in the admin workflow. That handoff is used for beta review, support/contact follow-up, and later licensing operations if access is approved.
Our legal bases include your consent for beta-related emails; our legitimate interest and steps taken before a contract for reviewing beta applications, preventing abuse, supporting applicants, and managing licensing; and legal obligations where applicable.
We don't sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing.
3. Storage and security
Contact emails live in standard email infrastructure. Beta request submissions are forwarded from the website to the JD3 license server when beta intake is open. The license server stores the application fields needed to review the request, including applicant name, normalized applicant email, role/use answers, optional machine availability fields, the submitted user agent when provided, and HMAC-protected lookup values for email and forwarded IP. License activation records are stored on our servers. We use reasonable safeguards but no system is fully secure.
We keep contact information as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law. Beta application records are retained in the license server for founder review and beta lifecycle operations while the application is active and for the duration of the closed-beta program. If your application is declined or withdrawn, or you ask us to remove it, we delete or anonymize it within 30 days, unless we must keep limited records longer to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. Routine system cleanup does not by itself remove application records; removal is handled through the process described in "Your rights." The raw forwarded IP address and website bearer token are not stored in the beta application payload. Security audit logs that do not identify you may be retained.
4. Third-party services
The website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel collects standard server logs (IP addresses, request metadata) as part of normal hosting. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
The Software talks to Pangolin BEYOND® on your local network via published protocols (Talk TCP, OSC). We're not responsible for how Pangolin Laser Systems, Inc. or other third-party software you use alongside JD3 ZoneTools handles your data.
We share personal information only with service providers that process it on our behalf, including Vercel for hosting and anonymous analytics, the JD3 license-server hosting provider for beta application and license activation records, and email service providers used to send and receive messages with you. These providers may process data in the United States. If you access the site or Software from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
5. Third-party trademarks
JD3 ZoneTools is independent software. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pangolin Laser Systems, Inc. References to Pangolin® and BEYOND® are for compatibility descriptions. Those marks belong to Pangolin Laser Systems, Inc.
6. Children's privacy
JD3 ZoneTools is professional software for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; object to or restrict certain processing; and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, including beta-related emails, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us; we respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
You can also email us anytime to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request a correction
- Request deletion
- Opt out of future messages
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Software after a change means you accept the update.
